One-on-One Mentoring and Coaching
Directors of field-based experiential education programs face a unique set of challenges - from hiring, mentoring, and supporting staff to providing high quality programming on a tight budget - and it can be lonely at the top! Friends, family, and colleagues provide a great support network, but sometimes you want to talk to someone who has been there and understands what you are going through.

Educate Wild! provides one-on-one mentoring and coaching for program directors, field instructors, and the administrators who oversee these programs. These 50-minute sessions take place over the phone or Skype and you drive the conversation. Whether you want to get advice on how to handle an interpersonal conflict with a colleague, brainstorm a better way to solicit feedback from students, or debrief a challenging course, we are here to provide a supportive, confidential sounding board.

Course Design
We believe that excellent outdoor learning experiences start with clear, concise learning goals and a strong pedagogical foundation. Programs build from that point by creating course curriculum, calendars, activities, and field trips. When we help you design your course, we work together to plan for students’ intellectual growth as well as take care of their social, emotional, and physical needs to create a comprehensive experience.

Honest feedback and objective evaluation are essential for outdoor learning programs. Evaluation data can be used to improve course quality, guide staff training, eliminate unnecessary spending, and reduce risk in the field. However, it can be difficult to know what questions to ask and it is time-consuming to collect and analyze the responses .

We can create a custom feedback system that collects meaningful qualitative and quantitative survey data from course participants and staff and then automatically generates simple graphs to let you - and your board of directors - see what is working and what needs to change.
