Field Course Design Workshop
June 5 - 9, 2017

Join Educate Wild! in the Ponderosa Pines and cool, mountain air of Flagstaff, Arizona for a 5-day field course design workshop.  Faculty in the sciences and humanities will leave this week-long workshop with fresh ideas for teaching in the field and the classroom.

During this practical, hands on workshop participants will work through a structured, creative process to:
  • develop learning outcomes,
  • effectively create a positive learning community in the field (or classroom),
  • build a course calendar,
  • choose and manage appropriate risks,
  • plan efficient logistics, and
  • design a field-based experiential course for any discipline.

The workshop will take place in a state-of-the-art classroom and include short field trips to nearby national parks, national forests, and local parks.   Come with an idea and leave with a plan!
