The end of the year often prompts us to reflect on our lives, families, and careers. This past year was especially chaotic on the global and national scale, so it is a good time to get our bearings and become grounded by reflecting on an individual scale. This year I have been fortunate to work with dozens of clients and students in Career Mapping workshops*. Throughout this process, I’ve learned that the secret to living a fulfilling life and having a satisfying career is that you – and you alone – already have the answers to life’s persistent questions. The most satisfying profession for you is one that suits your personality: your innate talents, skills, values, interests, and quirks. If you listen to your instincts and trust your senses, you will recognize what you’ve always known what you want to do with your life – or the dozens of things you want to do.
